Introduction
This tutorial teaches you Co-creation Community essentials such as general settings, registration, and extras. You’ll create your first Co-creation Community and learn how to set the rules for who can access the Co-creation Community.

Before you start
Before you start the tutorial, there are a few things to check:

You must have permission to create a Co-creation Community by being a platform admin.
Step 1: Create a new Co-creation Community
The first thing we’ll do is create a new Co-creation Community. When you create a Co-creation Community, you’ll be presented with the Co-creation Community builder, where you can configure every part of your Co-creation Community.

Go to your platform home page.

Select Create > Co-creation Community.
Step 2: Configure the general settings
Now that you’re on the Co-creation Community builder, you can start configuring your Co-creation Community.

On the General tab, select Title and description.

For Title, enter the name of your Co-creation Community.

For Description, enter a description for your Co-creation Community.

Next, select the Personalized URL and Prefix tab.

For Personalized URL, enter a custom URL for your Co-creation Community.

For Idea ID Prefix, enter a unique prefix to customize your Idea IDs.
With this done, you’ve completed all the required settings to move on from the General tab. However, while on the same tab you can also:
Tip: We recommend using prefixes that align with the theme of your Co-creation Community. For example, “SUS-” would be a suitable prefix for a Co-creation Community based on sustainability.
Step 3: Set the registration rules
This is where you’ll set the rules for who can access the Co-creation Community and how they can join it.

On the Registration tab, select Membership Settings.

Under Community Type, choose your preferred access setting:
Open: Anyone can register.Open by domain: Anyone with the domain you specify can register.
Closed: Only invited users can access the Co-creation Community.
Once the Co-creation Community is live, you can invite new members or save time by turning on auto-enrolment to automatically add people to your Co-creation Community. While on the Registration tab you can also:
Step 4: Add any optional extras
If you want to add extra features to your Co-creation Community, such as gamification or recommendations, you can do so on the Extras tab. For our example, we’ll turn on gamification.

On the Extras tab, click the Plus, and then select Gamification.

Turn on the Enable Gamification toggle.

Click Save.
This way contributors can earn points for things they do anywhere in the Co-creation Community.
Step 5: Manage dashboard visibility
Now we need to decide which users or groups can see the analytics dashboard for the Co-creation Community.

On the Dashboard tab, select a dashboard.

Under Manage access, select a user group, or type someone’s name in the search field and then select the user.
Step 6: Publish your Co-creation Community
In this final step, you will publish your Co-creation Community so it’s live and ready for new members.

Check you have no warnings remaining for your Co-creation Community settings.

Select Publish.
