Create your first Co-creation Community

In this tutorial, you'll learn how to create your first Co-creation Community. This tutorial is intended for Admins. It assumes you have basic knowledge of:

By the end of this tutorial, you'll be able to:

  • Create a Co-creation Community from scratch

Before you start

Before you start the tutorial, there are a few things to check:

  • You'll need permission to create a Co-creation Community by being a platform Admin.

  • You have purchased a Co-creation Community and it’s been enabled. Please contact your Customer Success Manager for more information.

1. Open the Co-creation Community builder

You’ll need to open the Co-creation Community builder to start creating your Co-creation Community.

From the platform home page

  1. Go to your platform home page.

  2. In the navigation bar, click Create and then select Co-creation Community.

2. Configure the General settings

Now that you're on the Co-creation Community builder, you can start by configuring the basic settings for your Co-creation Community.

Add a card image

Personalize your Co-creation Community by adding a custom card image that will display on the Co-creation Community card on the home and Discover page.

  1. Click Card Image and upload or select an image.

  2. Click Close.

Enter the Co-creation Community details

Enter all the required details for your Co-creation Community.

  1. Under Co-creation Community Name, enter the name of your Co-creation Community.

  2. Under Personalised URL, enter a custom URL domain for your Co-creation Community.

  3. Under Co-creation Community Description, enter the description of your Co-creation Community.

Additional settings

Some additional settings you can set to your preference:

  • Dashboard Blocks: Select the blocks to include in the community dashboard.

  • Advanced Analytic Settings: Decide if Advanced Analytics is available on this Co-creation Community and any Challenge created inside of it.

  • Gamification block role settings: Select which roles are excluded from the Gamification block.

3. Configure the Admin settings

With the basics done, let's configure the admin settings.

Assign a Co-creation Community Admin and Manager

  1. Under Co-creation Community Admins, enter a user's name and select them from the list.

  2. Under Co-creation Community Managers, enter a user's name and select them from the list.

Additional settings

Some additional settings you can set to your preference:

  • Gamification Settings: Decide if Admins of Child Co-creation Community can override the Gamification settings of the parent Co-creation Community.

  • Co-creation Community Admin Permissions: Select which permissions your Co-creation Community Admins have inside the Co-creation Community.

4. Configure the Membership settings

This is where you’ll set the rules for who can access the Co-creation Community and if they can register.

Set your registration preferences

  1. Under Registration Settings, select your preferred registration setting:

    Open: Anyone can register.

    Open by domain: Anyone with the domain you specify can register.

    Closed: Only invited users can access the Co-creation Community.

  2. Under Registration Requirements, decide if registrants must be of a certain age to register.

  3. Under Auto-enrol Settings, choose your preferred enrolment setting:

    Yes: Everyone on the platform is automatically added to the Co-creation Community.
    No: Users need to register to contribute to the Co-creation Community.

  4. Under People Search Settings, choose your people search setting:

    Everyone can search People
    Only Co-creation Community Admins can search People

Note: Users are not notified when they’re added to an Idea Space via auto-enroll.

Additional settings

Some additional settings you can set to your preference:

  • Gamification Settings: Decide if Gamification points are earned for actions completed in the Co-creation Community.

5. Configure the Recommendation settings

Lastly, you’ll want to configure the recommendation settings for the Co-creation Community.

  1. Select the default settings for all Challenges in this Co-creation Community and any child Co-creation Community.

  2. Under Relationship Threshold, select the minimum relationship level that’s required for an Idea to be included in the list of recommendations.

  3. Under Scope of Recommendations, select the default scope for recommendations for Challenges in the Co-creation Community.

6. Submit your Co-creation Community

Give your Co-creation Community settings one final review and then click Submit to make it live.
