Use categories to group Ideas

 

Categories are used to group related Ideas together on Challenges, such as by department, division, location, or topic.

Who can do this? Platform site Admins.

Create a category

  1. Go to your platform home page.

  2. Select Settings > Admin Panel > Categories.

  3. Click Add Category.

  4. Enter a name for your category.

  5. Click Save.

Add a subcategory

If you want to break down a category even further, you can add subcategories.

  1. Go to your platform home page.

  2. Select Settings > Admin Panel > Categories.

  3. Click the Plus next to the category.

  4. Enter a name for the subcategory.

  5. Click Save.

Disable a category

If need you can hide a category so it’s no longer displayed when creating a Challenge.

  1. Go to your platform home page.

  2. Select Settings > Admin Panel > Categories.

  3. Click the Eye next to the category you want to disable.

  4. Click Confirm.

Delete a category

If a category is no longer needed, you can delete it.

  1. Go to your platform home page.

  2. Select Settings > Admin Panel > Categories.

  3. Click the Bin next to the category you want to delete.

  4. Click Delete.

Note: If you delete a category that’s already in use, the category field on an Idea will be empty.
