Connect Jira to your platform

Connect Jira to your platform to send Ideas to your Jira projects and receive status updates back from Jira to the original Ideas.

Who can do this? Platform site Admins.

Before you start

Before you connect Jira to your platform, there are a few things to know:

  • Your Innovation Consultant must enable the Jira integration feature flag for your platform.

  • You will need to associate a Jira account with the Wazoku Platform. We strongly recommend you use an automation account that is not associated with a specific person at your company.

  • The Jira account will need to have permission to create cards on all of the projects and instances you want to use.

Connect Jira Cloud to your platform

  1. Create an API token for your Jira account.

  2. Go to your platform home page.

  3. Select Settings > Admin Panel > Integrations > Project Management.

  4. Under Type of Jira Application, Select Jira Cloud.

  5. Enter the email address of the Jira automation account.

  6. Enter the API token you created.

  7. Enter the URL of an initial Jira instance you would like to connect.

  8. Click Authenticate.

  9. Wait for the authentication to complete, and then select Enabled.

Note: By default, the user will be authenticated but the integration won’t be enabled. You can add additional Jira instances after adding your first instance.

Note: The projects list is refreshed once every hour to capture any new projects added to your Jira instances.

Connect Jira Data Center to your platform

  1. Create a personal access token for your data center.

  2. Copy the token as this is the only time you would be able to see it.
