Where to find Projects

Projects are located in the Innovation Management tab in the main navigation. Go to Innovation Management → Projects.

Who can do this? Site Admins, Community Admins, and Project Managers can create a Project.

Managers are users added in Project Settings with permission to create Projects.

Note: Challenge Managers can also create a Project from a Challenge Idea, even if they are not a Manager.

How to create a Project

Projects can be created in three ways:

From the Project page

1. Go to Innovation Management > Projects
2. Click Add Project and fill out the form
3. Add a Project Name and Description
4. Choose to:
   • Link an existing Idea, or
   • Create a standalone Project
5. Select Privacy settings
   • Private (seen by project managers and members)
   • Open (seen by all Full Contributors or community members)
6. Add Project Managers
7. Add Experts or Organizations (optional)
8. Review the Framework information modal
9. Select a Framework or skip
10. You will be taken to the Project board

From the Framework page

1. Go to Innovation Management → Frameworks
2. Select a Framework template
3. Click Add Project
4. Complete the Add Project form
5. Add a Project Name and Description
6. Choose to:
   • Link an existing Idea, or
   • Create a standalone Project
7. Select Privacy settings
   • Private (seen by project managers and members)
   • Open (seen by all Full Contributors or community members)
8. Add Project Managers
9. Add Experts or Organizations (optional)
10. Click Save Project

Note: This method skips the Framework selection step.

From an Idea

Who can do this? Challenge Managers can also create a Project from a Challenge Idea.

1. Open a Challenge
2. Select an Idea/ideas
3. Click On the 3 dots → Start Project
4. Complete the Add Project form
5. Add a Project Name and Description
6. The Associate with existing idea will be selected.
7. Select Privacy settings
   • Private (seen by project managers and members)
   • Open (seen by all Full Contributors or community members)
8. Add Project Managers
9. Add Experts or Organizations (optional)
10. Click Next
11. Review the Framework modal, scroll through the frameworks available
12. Select a Framework or skip
13. Click View Project
