About Projects

What are Projects?

Projects help teams turn ideas into structured, trackable work with clear ownership, timelines, and progress tracking. They provide a dedicated workspace to manage delivery from start to completion.

What is a Project Manager?

A Project Manager is the user responsible for managing work inside a Project.

What Project Managers can do:

  • Edit the Project
  • Add tasks and subtasks
  • Assign owners
  • Set durations
  • Move tasks across the board

Project Board

The Project board is where all work is managed.

It includes:

  • Tasks (from a Framework or manually added)
  • Subtasks
  • Assignees
  • Associations: Orgs, Experts, ideas
  • Durations
  • Dependencies
  • Workflow progression

Tasks and Subtasks

Tasks are the main units of work in a Project.

Project Managers can:

  • Add new tasks
  • Add subtasks
  • Assign owners to tasks
  • Track progress

Subtasks allow work to be broken into smaller steps. A task can be completed once all subtasks are completed.

Project Status

Projects move through three statuses:

  • Inactive
The Project is created but no assignees or durations are set
  • In Progress
At least one task has an assignee and/or duration
  • Completed
All tasks in the Project are finished
