What are Experts?

Experts are specialised individuals with proven knowledge in a specific domain. They help solve complex problems, support challenges, and bring high-quality insight into your innovation activities.

Experts can be added to Ecosystem and managed using the same structure as organisations.

Use Experts to:

• Discover and add specialists with credible experience.
• Track expertise and engagement across campaigns.
• Assign experts to challenges where their skills are needed.
• Build reusable networks of trusted individuals.

Who can add Experts? Full Contributors

Add Experts

1. Open Ecosystem
2. Navigate to Experts
3. All Experts
4. Click Add Expert
5. Enter the Expert’s Details
6. Save the Expert

Once added, the Expert will appear in Ecosystem and be available to manage in your Experts area.

Use Jen to add Experts

1. Navigate to Jen in the Header bar
2. Ask Jen a relevant prompt such as “Find Experts working on….”
3. Jen will return relevant results
4. Select the + under any results you wish to save as Experts
5. Expert will be saved in your List

Note: if you do not have this feature speak to your CSM who can enable it for you

Adding existing users as Experts

1. Navigate to any User profile
2. Select Add as Expert from top right of the profile page
3. Enter any additional details about the Expert
4. Save the Expert

Once added, the Expert will appear in Ecosystem and be available to manage in your Experts area.

Note: to use this feature ensure User Profile Configuration is enabled in Ecosystem Settings

View an Expert Profile

1. Open Ecosystem
2. Navigate to All Experts
3. Here you will see all Experts you have added

Linking Organisations to Experts

Build a more connected view of the ecosystem by showing how Experts and Organisations relate to one another. Capture an Expert’s organisational affiliations or potential affiliations as part of the Expert creation or editing process by linking Organisations to Experts. Organisations can be searched from existing Portal records, or created directly from the Expert form if they do not already exist.

Linking an existing Organisation

1. Open the Add Expert or Edit Expert form.
2. Go to the third step of the form for the Add organistaion section.
3. Search for an Organisation already saved in Portal.
4. Select the Organisation from the results.
5. Continue completing the form and save the Expert.

Adding and linking a new Organisation

1. Open the Add Expert or Edit Expert form.
2. Go to the third step of the form for the Add organistaion section.
3. Search for the Organisation.
4. If it does not exist, select Add new Organisation.
5. Complete the minimal Organisation form.
6. Save the new Organisation.
7. The Organisation is automatically linked to the Expert.

Edit an Expert Profile

1. Open Ecosystem
2. Navigate to All Experts
3. Select See Profile on the Expert you wish to edit
4. On the top right click the 3 dots
5. Here you can:
   • add Notes
   • view and upload Resources related to the Expert
   • add them to Folders
   • Add Liaisons: A Liaison is an internal colleague who has already had contact with, made an introduction to, or has useful relationship context about an Expert or Organisation.
   • View any Activity they are linked to such challenges they are linked to, ideas they have added
   • Evaluate an Expert to capture feedback on their performance and follow experts to stay updated on their activity.
6. You can also Follow/unfollow an Expert

Manage Experts using the Workflow (Kanban view)

1. Open Experts in Ecosystem
2. Navigate to the Workflow tab on left
3. Drag and drop Experts between workflow stages or manage Experts using the options available from the 3 dots icon

Use Experts in campaigns

Campaign-specific views can be created to manage selected Experts linked to a particular initiative or challenge.

2. Navigate to the Campaigns tab on left
3. Here you can create a campaign to manage Experts or create a campaign template
