If you want someone to update their Idea when it reaches a certain stage, you can automatically create tasks for updating Ideas. These settings are available in stages where Edit ideas is enabled as an allowed activity.
Who can do this? Site Admins, Community Admins for assigned communities, and Challenge Managers for assigned Challenges.
Automatically create tasks for updating Ideas
- Go to your Challenge.
- Select Manage
> Edit Challenge. - On the Workflow tab, select a stage.
- Under Stage settings, turn on the Create tasks for updating ideas toggle.
- Click Save.
When an Idea progresses into the selected stage a task will be sent to the Idea creator to update their idea.
Ask creators to confirm when their idea is updated
If you wish for creators to confirm when they have updated their idea you can enable this option. Creators will see a “Mark as Done” button on the idea. Once they click that the idea will show a note on the idea page that is has been marked as done by the creator.
- Go to your Challenge.
- Select Manage
> Edit Challenge. - On the Workflow tab, select a stage.
- Under Stage settings, turn on the Ask creators to confirm when the Idea is updated toggle.
- Click Save.
Note: The “Create tasks for updating ideas” setting will be on by default if you have “Ask creators to confirm when idea is updated” turned on or have added a new form to the stage, and it’s only available if you have “Edit Ideas” as an allowed activity for the selected stage.
