In an effort to support evermore personalisation to the home page, we have created a new block that lets you display analytics and gamification widgets. The data is pulled from across your whole site and lets everyone interact with the block to discover new insights.
If you wish to have the new Analytics Block enabled on your platform, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Analytics Block Widgets
1) Idea Map
The widget uses Google Maps to display where ideas have been submitted from based on the location in your profile field. For example, if a contributor has their location set to Birmingham in their profile page, a blue circle will appear over Birmingham on the map once they submit an idea. The biggest circle on the map represents where the most ideas have been submitted, with the other circles sized proportionately.
Hovering over the circles on the map will display a tool-tip providing further details of the number of ideas submitted in the area along with a specific location. Clicking on the circles will automatically zoom into the area showing you more detail.
For this feature to work, your platform must have a custom profile field with pre-defined locations. Google sets a default geo-location based on the information in the profile page, if it cannot find the location then we can manually set the co-ordinates for you, a specific store location for example.
Please note: Your organisation must white-list Google on your server in order for this feature to work. If you wish to have the map widget enabled and profile fields set-up, please contact email@example.com.
2) Activity Stream
The Activity Stream displays a list of the most recent activity from across the site, with tabs that filter for the latest ideas, comments and votes. If required, Administrators can exclude specific challenges, Idea Spaces and Co-creation Communities from the Activity Stream to display only the most relevant content. You can configure the content in Settings > Edit Home Page > Select/ Add New Block > Content Tab.
3) Trend Graph
The Trend Graph is a visual representation of activity, across the whole platform, in particular, ideas, comments, votes and views. The Actions drop-down enables you to filter by time period and frequency for further insights.
If required, Administrators can exclude specific challenges, Idea Spaces and Co-creation Communities from the Graph to display only the most relevant content. You can configure the content in Settings > Edit Home Page > Select/Add New Analytics Block > Content Tab.
To increase competitiveness amongst your crowd you can now display Idea, Challenge and Creator Leaderboards on the home page. If required, administrators can exclude specific challenges, Idea Spaces and Co-creation Communities from the Leaderboards to display only the most relevant content. You can configure the content in Settings > Edit Home Page > Select/Add New Analytics Block > Content Tab.
5) Keyword Wordcloud
Displays a word cloud based on keywords added to ideas across the whole platform. Clicking on a keyword, opens the discovery tab filtered for the ideas with the selected Keyword.
