Form Builder Translations

We are making it easier to run a truly global platform and encourage users, regardless of their preferred language, to participate in their native language, by allowing Admins to provide translations of the site content.

If the content is translated, when a user accesses the content, they will be presented with the content in their selected language. If the content has not be translated for their language, they will be presented with the content in the default language.

 

Translating a New Form

1) Navigate to Admin Menu > Form Builder > Create New Form.

2) On the Form Settings tab, select the languages you want to use for the form. You cannot un-select the default site language.

3) On the Add a Field and Field Settings tabs, create the form, adding fields and customising field titles and settings.

Note: You can only add fields to the form when in your default language, as shown in the box below.

4) On the Language button in the upper right hand corner of the page, select your new language from the drop down list e.g. Spanish. The field labels display in the default description (e.g. a Single Line Text field displays as Texto de una sola línea).

5) To translate the fields, select the Field Settings tab and then  select the field on the right.

6) To change the default titles, select the field on the right, then in the Field Settings tab on the left you can add your translation in the Field Label box.

7) You can switch between your chosen languages at any time using the Language button.

8) Click Save to save the forms and translations. 

 

Translating Existing Forms

1) Navigate to Admin Menu > Form Builder > Edit

2) On the Form Settings tab, select the languages you want to use for the form. You cannot un-select the default site language.

4) To translate the fields, select the Field Settings tab and then select the field on the right.

5) To change the default titles, select the field on the right, then in the Field Settings tab on the left you can add your translation in the Field Label box.

6) You can switch between your chosen languages at any time using the Language button.

8) Click Save to save the forms and translations. 

Note: Other Idea Spotlight content can be translated including: Admin Panel, Home PageIdea Spaces or Co-Creation Communities, Conversations and Challenges.
