For larger organisations, where there may be many users with the same or similar names, displaying a list of names (i.e. 10 David Smiths) doesn't allow the user to easily select the person they are trying to @mention, share with, add as evaluator, etc. This is why we have the functionality for when a user mouses over a name - whether an avatar in an idea or comment, or a name in a list - user profile information is displayed providing more details about the user and making it easier to select the correct person from a list.
Key benefits
In the first iteration of the functionality, the following information will be displayed when hovering over a name:
- Avatar
- Name (first name and last name)
- Email Address (if publicly displayed on the Profile page)
- Joined Date
The mouse over will be available on the following pages/actions:
- Idea page: Information section (Idea Creator) & Comments
- Share Modal
- Add Evaluator (on Evaluator stage in Challenge Builder)
- Ad-hoc Evaluator Modal
- @mention
When selecting a user from a list, hover over the visible user name to see more information about the user to ensure that you are selecting the correct user from the list.
